It’s interesting the way events transpire to make you remember past lives, or your life in the past. I have vivid memories of Easter three years ago, and two years ago, and last year. I don’t think one normally remembers Easter, the way they might other holidays. There aren’t any gifts involved like Christmas or a birthday, nor are you usually off vacationing like you might be during the 4th of July.
Regardless, my life now has caused me to reflect on my life in the past: on choices I made, where I had been and where I thought I was going. In 2004, I never could have predicted that I would be where I am today.
In the same way, there’s no way of predicting what tomorrow may bring, or where I might be in 2010. You can plan, and you can anticipate, but forecasting that far out is an interesting proposition at best. Still, for me at least, this Easter has proven a good opportunity for reflection and contemplation.
Time for sleep: I have a long day of cooking ahead of me. Happy Easter everybody.
