I'm so jealous. We're supposed to get all the snow up here in Western MA, but we've had, like, 10 inches all year. Pathetic. Enjoy it! Storms like that are once in a lifetime.

Yes, that's exactly what the congress should do for citizens, but it is always not done perfectly, isn't it.

The best way to take action is to contact your lawmakers. OpenCongress.org makes it easy to do so. Just register for a free account, plug in your Zip code, and we'll find your members of Congress automatically. From there, click on their profile and you'll find phone numbers and link to send them e-mail.

The last day to qualify for a first extension of benefits is 12-20-09 (at least in CA) and my benefits end 1-2-10. Will I qualify for an extension under the new bill? The woman at the EDD seemed to think so and that I would then also be able to get further extensions. Can anyone tell me if any of this is correct? I'm worried out of my mind.

I wanted to say thank you for providing information to the 87% of Americans who make only 10% of the money generated in this country each year, obviously leaving 10% for unemloyment and an astounding 90% of revenue retained by only 3% of America.
I wonder if the founding fathers had this in mind when they laid their life on the line for Capitalism. Don't get me wrong, it is a far better economic strategy than any other possibility. I just struggle with the application of....of the people by the people and for the people.
A nation divided cannot stand...LINCOLN. How can the leaders of our country ignore this?

I say we back-tax a percentage of the oil companies record $250 billion profits from one quarter of last year, as well as, the $400 billion profit from earlier this year to subsidize the unemployment extensions that will definitely be required. Afterall, those profits played a large part in draining the blood out of the middle class working people of our great country as well as many others!!!

Just a thought.......
