Here’s Squishy sleeping in her favorite position. I’ve always kinda dug the way she curls up, but in a way that says “Yes, you can come rub my belly, I won’t mind.” Meanwhile, Nutmeg caught her reflection in a mirror, and decided to engage in a staring contest. Care to guess who won?

Here’s Nutmeg sniffing out Beta, one of the Sunlight Foundation’s Pleos. They’re basically little robotic dinosaur pets, incredible lifelike for the technology: they coo when you pet them, and have a fit if you hand them by their tales. Yes: they’re cats in dinosaur form. I’m off for a bike ride this morning, but here are some recent photos of Nutmeg and Squishy to get your morning started. Both are doing great in Baltimore, enjoying the bigger space of their new apartment. I might be back with more later, but if not, have a great weekend.

The cats have adjusted a bit since last week, and Meredith decided to name the new kitten “Squishy” after the tiny jellyfish in Finding Nemo. Things have settled down a bit at Chez Meredith, but the kittens still like to tussle. Sometimes it’s for real, but they seem to be playing for the most part. [...]

Meredith adopted another cat yesterday, thanks to a generous donation by one of our coworkers. The new kitten remains unnamed, but is incredibly cute and seems to be adapting quite nicely. Nutmeg, on the other hand, was non-plussed. As the evening progressed, she began to assert some dominance over what has clearly been her territory [...]
