Enthusiastic dems met at Howie Morales’ election party at the Brown Derby in Sta. Clara to eat enchiladas—both colors—tamales, chiles relleños, beans (cooked in different ways), chile verde, pepsis, coronas, buds, and a whole other assortment of foods. We devoured the goodies in the only way Santa Clareños, Silverianos, Bayarianos and Grantianos in general can do it!

It was a good night for Howie sweeping the senatorial election and Christy Miller, looking like the victorious one before I left the party, was gracious even though a case of cold was evident.

We should be proud in this historic moment for the national, state, and local results. Grant County will have its first all female Board of Commissioners.

With the best enchiladas—or chile verde (green chili for the monolingual ones)—my best to Avelino and the whole contingent of New Mexicans exiled anywhere in the world.

I'm with you all the way. Nothing made me happier than to see that big blue almost-square on those TV analysis maps last night... and then I found out about the NM sweep! I was ecstatic about it all night, but of course no one else in the newsroom at the Daily Wildcat was nearly so enthusiastic. In fact, I'm pretty sure they were sick of hearing me go on about it.
