They are merely marketers who buy gas from others - with price markups all along the supply chain. In other cities in NM, there are gas stations owned and operated by major oil companies. And guess what - there is real price competition between the majors and the locally owned stations. Big, bad oil, you say, eh ? Doesn't seem so big and bad when gasoline is now 30 cents cheaper just down the road in Las Cruces. $3.55/gallon. Just the price we all have to pay for having those Silver City gasoline profits stay within our community.
