During the Silver City Town Council meeting last night, nominations were made for Mayor Pro Tempore. When nominated, Councilor Judy Ward indicated Steve May should accept the post, due to his many years on the council and the fact he served as Silver City mayor. May said he felt Ward was best for the job, since she was re-elected to a two year term in March. He stressed the need for continuity.
“I may not run again, and I might lose if I do run,” May said.
May was unchallenged when he sought reelection in 2006.
