Loretta and Gary, with the U.S. Forest Service and New Mexico Forestry Division, respectively, dropped off my protective gear this morning. Included were my helmet, pants, shirt and gloves: the standard affair. Last time I had some was during the Skates Fire, but with all the grass fires we’ve been having lately, I figured it was time to request the gear again.
Anyhoo, the Daily Press’s resident grandson (who visits his grandmother in the office every day) decided to try on the helmet this afternoon:
