The Associated Press is reporting that Gov. Bill Richardson is trading up to an ethanol-fueled SUV:
Gov. Bill Richardson’s hybrid sport utility vehicle just wasn’t big enough.
So the 6-foot-2 Richardson has traded it in for a bigger SUV that can run on a blend of gasoline and ethanol, a spokesman told the Albuquerque Journal in a copyright story published Saturday.
The new ride is a 2007 black Chevrolet Tahoe with a 5.3-liter eight-cylinder engine, four-wheel drive and third-row seating. It’s special fuel happens to be produced by a plant in Portales.

I think we can chalk this up as another indication that Richardson is planning a presidential bid.
In other Richardson news, Heath Haussamen has some additional analysis of The Guv’s possible plans, including the implications of a successful Sudan trip. He came to the same conclusion that I did: January 15 is looking like the day Richardson will announce whether he’ll run for president.
