As I noted yesterday, just about six percent of registered Grant County voters cast early or absentee ballots for the primary election. The trend I’ve noticed in the last few years has been an increase in those voting early. With a number of people speculating turnout to be low (I’m hearing numbers like 15-18 percent), we may have a good indication of which way the night will swing when clerk Howie Morales announces the early election results. Those results may represent 1/3 of the votes!
Again, tune in to channel 17 on CATS if you’re living in the area. Starting at 7 we’ll bring you the latest on Grant County returns. You’ll also hear from a few candidates, and we’ll speak with Morales about the election and the results.
If you can pick it up, check KANW this evening starting at 6:30. Albuquerque political blogger Joe Monahan is headlining the coverage:

Above all else, vote! I’m sure most of you reading this are already planning to, but, if not, I want to encourage you. You already know why you should, so I won’t preach to you. But I will lay on a guilt trip tomorrow if you don’t make it.
