ACLU of New Mexico, Southwestern Chapter
Thursday, May 18, 2006
6:00 P.M.
Silver City Public Library
The monthly meeting of the ACLU will include a video presentation on voting rights, illustrating how the electoral power of minorities is often diluted through the manipulation of political districts by those in power, as well as by intimidation of minority voters at the polls. The video also focuses on key portions of the Voting Rights Act that are up for renewal by Congress in 2007.
Both ACLU and non-ACLU members are welcome. For more information, contact Larry Sullivan at 534-9500 or Barbara Tegge at stargazer@signalpeak.net.
