I agree that we all need to &quot;come together&quot; on many issues in Silver City and Grant County and that negativity does tend to damage much hard work of many people, but by the same token for the Chamber to select WNMU really smacks of some good ole boy tactics that apparently still prevail here in our community.
The Silver City Daily Press&#039; decision to print their view is free speech at its best. Not merely a rubber stamp of elitist opinions that seem to dominate the media elsewhere. I applaud Tina Ely for having the courage to speak her mind. It is too bad that honesty and truth are often taken as &quot;negativity&quot; in our society today.
I know our national political leaders would rather not have to answer to serious questions of their authority and posistions on important issues. Thank God there are still some brave souls in our community that don&#039;t fear speaking their minds because of possible reprisals from the power brokers that would like to keep the status quo alive and well.</description>
